Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Programmer/Analyst. The primary function of this position is to design, develop, test, convert, support, and install business system applications. This position will also aid internal customers (end users) as required.
- Works with Senior Director of Applications and Product Mgmt. and/or Enterprise System Application Manager to develop and test business system applications and/or make corrections and modifications to existing applications.
- Converts and implements new business system applications.
- Responsible for the quality, integrity, and availability of all programming work completed.
- Responsible for developing the business systems to maintain data integrity where possible and the overall data integrity of the business systems. Responsible for upholding the confidentiality of sensitive MHC business process data.
- Uses programming and business system expertise to ensure problem reports and enhancement requests are efficient and make best use of system resources.
- Ensures satisfaction of internal customers for all business systems developed and/or modified.
- Adheres to software development standards and guidelines.
- Provides technical business systems support to the IT staff and/or users as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Advanced understanding of the IBM i, CL Programming, and RPG Programming.
- Demonstrated knowledge of DB2 for IBM i, TSQL, and relational database concepts.
- Prefer understanding of core business systems, i.e., G/L, A/P, A/R, Payroll, Inventory, etc.
- Prefer knowledge and experience in one or more of these technologies: Azure, Mulesoft, Python.
- Prefer knowledge of development best practices including user interface best practices.
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
