Job Overview & Essential Functions

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a New Truck Inventory Specialist. The New Truck Inventory Specialist is responsible for providing technical and marketing support to the branches regarding new truck sales. Works with branches on truck specifications, market analysis and inventory management. Serves as a liaison with the truck OEM’s and other major suppliers. 

  • Provides technical support for the branches to develop truck specifications to meet customer requirements. Reviews all truck orders to ensure specifications exceeds customer expectations.
  • Analyzes branch truck inventory to monitor days in inventory to minimize flooring costs and non-movement. Makes recommendations to management on improving truck inventory turns.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert on truck OEM’s ordering systems and provides training to branch sales force on use of ordering systems.
  • Works with truck OEM engineering teams on truck specifications.
  • Maintains and has complete understanding of all published Sales and Product Bulletins. Distributes information to branches regarding OEM truck sales programs and campaigns. Verifies new truck pricing and discounts using current price lists and related information.
  • Provides market analysis and monitors market penetration (Polk data) based on truck registrations. Makes recommendations to management and branches on areas of opportunity to improve market penetration.
  • Works with major component suppliers on special programs, offerings and marketing funds. Communicates program offerings to branch sales force.
  • Provides guidance to the branch sales force on specific Federal, State and Regional laws concerning truck specifications and weight/length limitations.
  • Works with branch sales force on utilization of CRM.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Must have broad knowledge of truck OEM specifications, products and marketing techniques. Previous heavy duty truck sales or product support work experience is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have strong presentation skills.
  • Must have proven negotiation skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • High energy level and positive attitude.
  • Must be willing to travel 30%.
