Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a District Manager. The District Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of assigned branches’ operations in compliance with established policies and procedures. Plans, directs and controls the activities of each branch profit center and takes corrective action where needed. Evaluates each department’s operating results and performance against predetermined objectives. Assists department managers with major, target or critical accounts. Directs the sales efforts for assigned branches.
- Assesses present and future needs, trends, problems and profit opportunities of assigned branches.
- Establishes short and long-term operating and financial objectives for assigned branches, within the Company’s overall plans and policies.
- Ensures that approved policies and objectives are clearly understood and effectively applied throughout assigned branches.
- Reviews and appraises the results of the activities of the departments; identifies, recommends and implements corrective action when necessary to achieve objectives.
- Develops sales strategies with the department managers and salesmen to ensure that objectives are obtained, supervises direct sale of Full-Service Leasing, Contract Maintenance, Short- and Long-Term Rental and Service Sales.
- Ensures appropriate communications within and between various departments and functional areas with the assigned branches; conduct individual performance reviews as required.
- Develops and trains Lease and Rental personnel, reviews and appraises their performance. Recommends compensation changes in accordance with Company policy. Ensures that the organizational structure of assigned branches is efficiently planned and adequately and competently staffed.
- Approvals payables, special billings, special credits and damage re-bills prior to being sent to the customer(s).
- Work with the Office Specialist on collection of all past due accounts.
- Promotes safe work habits and monitors safety performance in the workplace to reduce accident potential; ensures assigned branches comply with local, state and federal governmental regulations.
- Reviews all repair orders exceeding $750.00 prior to posting.
- Responsible for identifying improvement opportunities to increase operational efficiency and enhance customer service. Works with the Quality Assurance Department and Leasing Senior Management to ensure leasing procedures accurately reflect operational needs and are effectively implemented in assigned branches.
- Meets with all customers as required to reviews items such as timeliness of driver trip reports, mileage readings, out of balance fuel taxes and other operational areas to ensure mutual understanding and acceptance. Assesses the need for additional services or new leads.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

- Requires previous management experience.
- Prefer thorough knowledge of all phases of Leasing operations.
- Prefer direct truck leasing and/or rental experience.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Requires strong leadership ability and decision making skills.
